Founded in 2014, My Very Own Bed provides new beds to children moving into stable housing. As of 2025 they've provided over 10,000 beds and Dream Kits to children ages 2 – 17 throughout the Twin Cities and surrounding suburbs. In 2024 alone, My Very Own Bed provided 1,806 new beds to children in 793 families. Before receiving them children were sleeping on the floor, in a shelter, on a couch or broken bed, a shared bed, or an air mattress. Good sleep is vital to growth and success in life and school, and My Very Own Bed is working hard to ensure every child has a comfortable place to sleep.

My Very Own bed calls all families 4-6 weeks after bed placement to see how they are doing. 89% of families report that their children's sleep had improved, "they sleep longer, more comfortably, and without interruption. Many also now have a sleep routine." Families also report that 71% show positive changes including increased responsibility, confidence, pride, and mental health.

One parent shared: "Mornings are much more positive. The kids are happy, I am happy. Having a comfortable place to sleep has changed their attitudes and bed routines so much - they no longer dread going to sleep on a hard floor."
